Virtual Book Drive for the Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital and LVHN Children’s Areas
“Reading should not be presented to children as a chore or duty. It should be offered to them as a precious gift.” — Kate DiCamillo
October is both Health Literacy Month and Medical Librarian’s Month. To celebrate, the Library Services librarians of Lehigh Valley Health Network are sponsoring a book drive to benefit the Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital and the children’s areas at LVHN campuses.
As little as $3.00 can put a book into the hands of a child who is in the hospital or visiting a pediatric practice. Books take a child out of the present moment and into a new world to encourage imagination and discovery.
Helping one of our pediatric patients can’t be easier! Just click the link to the right and donate as much or as little as you’d like. The librarians will handle the rest. Appropriate books will be purchased for various ages, cultures and languages.
It will only take you a minute to donate, but to the child receiving your book, the gift of reading lasts a lifetime. Thank you for your support!
